Community workshops involve education and facilitated dialogue, but
are smaller in scale than a town hall, ranging from twenty to a hundred
participants. Workshops follow the interactive format of a charette
or design workshop. Shared Vision encourages the use of visual tools
such as maps, drawing, photographs and graphic images that allow participants
to express their ideas visually.
Workshops on opportunity sites have been held for seven infill sites
along Central Avenue. These workshops can serve as a model for proactive,
collaborative site planning involving developer and community participants.
